Location: Fort Worth, Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others in a position to understand specific customer requirements
  • Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Establishes new accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organizing sales call schedules
  • Prepares cost estimates by studying all related customer documents, consulting with engineers, architects, and other professional personnel
  • Determines improvements by analyzing applications, custom development, integrations, and services in customer environment and engineering or proposing potential solutions.
  • Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff and costing engineering changes
  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Assist in training junior Customer Support Specialists
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience as a Sales Engineer required
  • Experience with Software and Web Development preferred.
  • Familiarity with the auction industry is a plus
  • Experience Analyzing information and data.
  • Exceptional communications skills, verbal and written.
  • Must have very good phone etiquette.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Previous experience creating user manuals and similar technical documents for software
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and create client facing training materials “from scratch”, inclusive of "how to" and process documents, e-learning, and other user/client facing instructional content
  • Must be a utility player and willing to wear many hats and is comfortable in a startup environment
  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and associated development projects, specifically working alongside a team of developers
  • Previous management experience is not required, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the key areas of this role
  • Must be customer-focused, work well in a team-oriented environment, and provide quality service for the business client. Must pay very close attention to detail.
  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Able to read, speak and write in English.
  • Sitting    - up to 8 hours per day.  
  • Mobility -ability to reach equipment and perform some diagnosis and limited repair in limited space.
  • Bending, Stooping, Lifting, Reaching - to pick up boxes of small to mid-sized equipment or computer paper or files.
  • Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time.
  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and Vendors.
  • Hearing - able to understand personnel, vendors, and supervisors.
  • Seeing - able to see the computer screen and to endure the “eye strain”
  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
